Remembering the great Cyrille Regis, as his legacy lives on

The thoughts and prayers of everyone at Stellar Group are with the family and friends of Cyrille Regis, who died one year ago today.

Cyrille, one the most talented and pioneering footballers of his generation, worked for many years as an agent for Stellar and was a hugely respected and much-loved figure in the game.

The Regis name lives on in the minds of football fans everywhere but also in the work of the Cyrille Regis Legacy Trust, a charity set up by Cyrille’s widow Julia to help disadvantaged people at home and abroad.

Stellar Group Chairman Jonathan Barnett said: “Cyrille was a great sportsman, a great agent and a great man – a gentle, thoughtful, generous, passionate, determined, godly giant.

“Our thoughts and prayers this day are with Julia and all of Cyrille’s family and everyone who misses him. It is hugely fitting that his name will live on through the Legacy Trust, which will continue Cyrille’s tireless charity work bringing hope and help to people in need through the power of sport.”

Julia recently raised money for the new charity with a 50k walk along the Great Wall of China, an emotional and exhausting feat which was inspired by a visit to the wall made by Cyrille and his West Bromwich Albion team-mates 40 years ago.

The next event is a celebrity golf day taking place at the Belfry on May 24th. For more details about entering a team – each team of three that enters is joined by a celebrity from the world of sport – click here or email bookings@cyrilleregis.com or call 07736052994.
