06 Sep Stellar Group MD reflects on landmark deals
As Gareth Bale continues to delight football fans the world over with his electrifying skills, Stellar Group managing director and co-founder David Manasseh has been reflecting on the part the agency has played in the player’s story of success.
Gareth signed with Stellar Group aged just 16 and has since gone on to become one of the greatest and most richly rewarded sportsmen in the world. With Stellar Group and his family behind him the Welshman has also emerged as a role model for young players everywhere and a consummate professional respected by all in the game.
“I can remember meeting Gareth and his family for the first time when he was just 16,” said Mr Manasseh. “We had heard good reports about his talent but we instantly knew he could be something extra special. It has been said that no one dreamed Gareth would go so far but Gareth and his family had that dream and so did we. Our focus from the start was making these dreams come true.”
Gareth’s move from Tottenham Hotspur to Real Madrid in 2013 was then the biggest transfer deal in history and the player broke the football mould again recently when he signed a six-year contract, pledging his future to the Spanish giants.
“With deals of this size there is obviously a great deal of work and negotiation to be done,” Mr Manasseh said. “But each time, when the final signatures have gone on the page, I have felt an enormous sense of elation not only for Gareth and his family but that Stellar Group has made history once again.”
He added: “Gareth is not only an amazing player but also a model professional. His family obviously take the greatest credit for that but we like to think that we played a significant role in helping him develop as person and a player.
“We have a very close relationship with all our players and it is this commitment to people that sets us apart from all other agencies”.
